This site does not run programs, hold events, or accept donations. What follows is what actually helps, ranked by how much difference it makes per hour spent.
- Disconnect a downspout. Route one downspout into a rain garden or a dry well instead of the driveway. One roof plane is a real, measurable reduction.
- Check for a municipal rebate. Many stormwater utilities pay for rain gardens, cisterns, and impervious-surface removal. The money is frequently unclaimed.
- Stop the fine sediment. Bare soil, unsurfaced driveways, and failing culverts on private land are the leading source of the silt that ruins spawning gravel.
- Volunteer with a local watershed group. Planting days and creek cleanups are run by regional organizations — search for the council or land trust covering your watershed.
